The Kuya Project is a non profit organization in Los Angeles Califonia that aims to support children from non-traditional family structures by offering them the guidance and companionship of a dedicated mentor. Recognizing the challenges faced by children from families experiencing high divorce rates—approximately 56% for first-time marriages, with even higher rates for subsequent marriages—our initiative addresses the emotional and social needs of these young individuals. Many of these children grapple with the complexities of blended families and feelings of loneliness or abandonment. Through The Kuya Project, we connect them with a volunteer mentor who shares similar experiences, fostering a supportive and understanding relationship. Additionally, we fund activities for mentors and mentees to engage in together, helping to strengthen their bond and provide a positive influence in the children's lives.
